Lincoln Zinc-Coated Steel Cent Cufflinks. In 1943 the Treasury Department resorted to these zinc-coated steel cents. This was due to a shortage of copper during the critical war year. Regular mintage resumed in 1944. These stainless steel cufflinks containing the steel cent, provide a nice contrast.
About This Piece: ver unusual leather, square cufflinks in matching carrying/ presentation snap case. No maker’s mark, but case is stamped Made in England.
Vintage Cuff Links Men Goldtone Square Textured Clear Rhinestone Accent Toggle These goldtone cuff links are in good pre-owned vintage condition, with light tarnish on the finish. They are unsigned. Please see photos.
Toggle backs are intact and function properly. Decorative foil backing is visible on the reverse, which is original to the piece and common for cufflinks of this era.
These cufflinks were made in the USA by union labor, dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1940s–1950s). Solid construction with traditional toggle backs.
