There is a possible scuff mark on the green finish on what I think is the depiction of a serpent head or a crocodile’s head. I say possible, because one of the hallmarks of this designer’s work is a kind of aged appearance and other pieces I have seen by Casa Maya also show areas in which the copper shows through the green finish, so I don’t know if this is the result of age and wear or if it was made this way intentionally to give the illusion of antiquity.
