This charming late-Victorian C-clasp brooch features a translucent, opalescent glass cabochon with hand-painted bird and floral motifs. When held to the light, the stone exhibits a beautiful “Ring of Fire” orange glow—a classic characteristic of early opaline glass.
The delicate flower shape and prong setting style add a touch of elegance to this fashion jewelry item, making it a unique and beautiful addition to any collection. Notice in particular the haze on the back of the stone is worn.
